Record your sightings here

Learn more about plants and animals and enter your observations to a national database via this page. A really interesting picture of wildlife biodiversity within the Site is beginning to emerge, but we need to know much more. To check what has been seen and the significance of contributions made please see the instructions below. Information you send us will be used to map the distribution of species within the site.

Greenspace Information for Greater London (GiGL) is the capital's open space and biodiversity records centre - they collate, manage and make available detailed information on London's wildlife, parks, nature reserves, gardens and other open spaces.

We ask you to go to the GIGL website and register your details and then submit your species record online. From there it will be sent to the National Biodiversity Network at www.nbn.org.uk.

Thank you for submitting your record. In some cases a follow up visit may be made to confirm your sighting; for example some lichen species require a chemical test to confirm identification.

To view distribution data online for this species log on to www.searchnbn.net and type into the ‘Search box’ the species or site you are interested in. However, in some cases, free access to detailed information about the location of a plant or animal may put it at risk so it will not be possible to view it without special permission. In other cases it may only be possible to see whether the plant or animal is present in a 1km².
