School Visits


London Borough of Bromley currently offers a wide range of school programmes covering Key Stages 1, 2, 3, 4 and AS/ A2 levels.

Current courses at Key Stage 1&2 include Seasonal Changes, Recycling, Winter Celebration, Nature Trails, Introducing Minibeasts, Life in Ponds, Discovering Plants, Habitat Comparisons; Scientific Enquiry, Map & Compass, Weather Focus, Rocks & Soils, What Eats What & Where, River Life, Environmental Investigation and Change & Sustainability.

These are offered at the Bromley Environmental Education Centre at High Elms (BEECHE).

Current courses at Key Stage 3 &4 include Woodland/Pond investigations extending to successional and energy flow as well as conservation and sustainability studies.

Courses at AS/A2 are suitable for students studying Biology, Science, Environmental Science and Geography and are tailored to suit the syllabus requirements. Contact: lcfsc@bromley.gov.uk

Cudham Environmental Activities Centre offers both residential and one-day educational courses on a wide variety of topics based around the natural environment. A copy of our new 'A Walk for All Seasons' publication will be available free of charge to all groups using the Centre. This comprehensive educational pack is designed for young people aged from six to 12 years and contains four themed seasonal walks in the Cudham valley, environmental games and activities together with guides to the local flora and fauna.

The Centre also offers a three-day residential course based around the life and works of Charles Darwin. This includes a two-mile walk to visit Down House. Cross-curricular activities include: local history, science, biodiversity, mathematics, art and map-reading skills. www.cudhameac.org.uk/
