Family Butterfly Walk 24th July.

Assess existing route with Butterfly Conservation and undertake butterfly transects at Downe Bank/Hang Grove through season with volunteer surveyors.

 

Continue restoration of chalk downland at Hang Grove to enhance butterfly corridors.

•   

Collate records for Strawberry Bank undertaken during 2004.

•   

Promote butterflies to West Kent Golf Course golfers.

•   

Training on butterfly identification to by given by Anna Bell of Butterfly Conservation.

•   

Contact to be made with Peter Kirby regarding looking for purple hairstreak eggs on oak as well as general butterfly ID practice advice.

•   

Continue volunteer/staff involvement with transects at Scadbury.

•   

Continue volunteer/staff involvement with transects at High Elms.

•   

Continue volunteer/staff involvement with transects at Jubilee.

•   

Continue volunteer/staff involvement with transects at Scadbury.

Staff to commence casual recording of butterflies at High Elms.

Continue with management of scalloped meadow edges and glade/ride creation in woodland areas.

•

Apply sightings from press release on Recorder (records already sent to National Glow Worm Survey).

•   

Engage 4 members of the public who responded to press coverage to survey their local area during 2005.

•   

Promote a display at High Elms Nature Centre.

•   

Selected camp sites in Cudham Valley to undertake at least 3 nights of glow-worm surveys.
