Contribute to Chalk LBP Working Group (eg. consider ‘Chalking Up London's Downs II'; offer one guided walk for promotion London-wide during 2005 as part of joint leaflet; promotion of chalk grassland management to golf courses).

•   

Keston & Hayes Common Walk (heathland as well as acid grassland) 22 nd June

•   

Establish Heathland & Acid Grassland Working Group.

•   

Contribute to LBP Heathland Working Group (eg. Bromley sites feature strongly in London Heathland Recovery Strategy; funding to extend areas at Hayes, Keston and St. Paul 's Cray Commons ).

•   

Ongoing management of Council-owned heathland; new management plans to be produced during 2005.

•   

Continued practical work to connect heathland fragments at Hayes Common.

•   

Continued practical work to connect heathland fragments at St. Paul 's Cray Common.

•   

LBP management practice handbook to be produced during 2005.

•   

Reptile surveys at Hayes Common continue; extensive surveying to be organised during 2005.

•   

Leaflet promoting London 's heathlands to be produced by LBP during 2005.

•   

Continued conservation and maintenance of restored heathland at Hawkwood Estate.

•    Your Heritage HLF bid in preparation for ‘ London 's Heathland Heritage'.

•   

Wetlands to be promoted via SUN Beck Corridor Project. Possible bog creation in Kelsey Park alongside river.

•   

As part of the SUN Project (via the Beck Corridor Project, Schools Project or Recording Project), focus on use of school ponds for educational purposes. Assistance to teachers in making the most of wetland for both educational purposes and for the benefit of the BBAP. Encouraging schools to share ideas, using a site such as Kelsey Park School to provide a training day and as part of a general wetland event in Beckenham are possibilities.

•   

Reed to be planted in Chislehurst Ponds.

•   

Reptiles and amphibians promoted by Froglife/LBB to allotment holders via training event in May.

•   

Clearance of trees around targeted ponds at Scadbury Park .

•   

Apply to Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund for Ruxley Lakes with Environment Agency and Kent Wildlife Trust.

•   

Progress the Darwin Pond Project at Cudham School as part of HLF bid.

•   

Involve residents and trained amphibian surveyors in surveying for and providing habitat in the area around Kingswood .

•   

CMS to re-visit key great crested newt sites to supplement advice already given to managers.

•   

Focus on Jubilee and Scadbury Park for dragonfly surveying.

•   

Improvement of fisheries and landscaping at Keston Ponds.

•   

Continue Wetland Action Group meetings (including outdoor visit); seek representation of EA.

•   

Enhancement of ponds at Jubilee Country Park .

•   

Promotion of wetlands as display at time of SUN High Broom meetings as initial starting point.

•   

Heron Watch 2/3rd April (organised by Bird Action Group).

•   

Nature Trek Through High Broom Wood 11 th June.

•   

Set up Farmland Action Group (addressing other habitat elements incorporated on Farmland too).

•   

Organise an open day at a demonstration site for attendance by local farmers; promote Environmental Stewardship, BBAP Review and Farmland Working Group at the event.

•   

Provide advice on Environmental Stewardship to private landowners (eg. discuss options for Environmental Stewardship with Home Farm; discuss options at Snag Lane field).

  Identify further recording sites for Bird Action Group (eg. Bromley Common, Home Farm).
